Carolyn Cook, MA, LPC
Carolyn is a native of Southern California and loves the sunshine. She graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 2003 with a Masters in Counseling and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2006.
While in St. Louis, Carolyn spent ten years working with mental health patients at a community outpatient behavioral health clinic where she also supervised a team of clinicians. At the end of 2013, Carolyn, her husband, and 3 children moved to the Madison area and Carolyn took a position directing children’s ministry at their church. In the Fall of 2018 she followed her desire to be back in a therapeutic setting and joined Living Well Counseling. While the majority of her practice is working with individual adults, she also sees children (10+) and adolescents.
Carolyn practices cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, and Brainspotting (a very effective trauma therapy). She believes compassion, understanding, and trust are important in the therapeutic process. The therapeutic relationship has much potential for bringing relief and healing to individuals. Her role as a therapist is to come alongside her clients while actively listening, reframing thoughts, and teaching new skills.
With a desire to journey with people, she seeks to bring restoration and freedom into challenging circumstances including but not limited to: life transitions, trauma, infertility, grief, and stress management.
